A Collaboration with Charlotte’s Creative Icon
We teamed up with one of Charlotte’s premier creatives, Dr. Davita Galloway. Together, We crafted a styled branding narrative at Our Legacy Studios Across eight distinctive sets. Davita embodied a unique look and persona, demonstrating how brand storytelling can shine through space, style, and creative direction.
Dr. Davita Galloway is a Black Girl, an Aquarius and Creative Entrepreneur. She attended The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Parsons The New School for Design in New York, as well as Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Davita is the CEO of DUPP&SWAT, an entity with several arms that include: an events venue, retail boutique, as well as a barber/beauty parlor. She is also the Executive Director of CrownKeepers (an arts-based nonprofit) and the Activations Strategic Partner for Hue House, a creative agency.
Adamant about the need for genuine expression, Galloway's work and presence is super authentic and has afforded many other opportunities. With that, Davita is a change agent, a creative, host, speaker, costumer, a doer, disruptor and a creator of all things dope. She is a former talk show host (Nita&Vita—which may be back very soon) and Editor in Chief of SPREAD magazine.
Davita is a proponent and champion of building community, social equity, entrepreneurship and economic opportunity, Davita enjoys collaboration with impact on those outputs. Fun and hella dope facts, a portrait of Galloway is a part of the permanent collection at the Harvey B Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture, she is listed as ‘One of 100 Women to KNOW in America’ and, this year, Galloway is the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate.

Jazz club
This intimate and soulful scene was designed especially for Davita. It highlights the versatility of Our Legacy Studios while bringing the energy of a live performance to life.
- Lighting & Styling: The set featured a warm backlit spotlight that created the atmosphere of a real jazz club. A soft haze was added to enhance the depth and richness of the tones.
- Props & Creative Direction: Studio props such as candles, plants, and a gold microphone were arranged to evoke the feeling of a vintage stage. Every detail contributed to the rhythm and charm of an intimate lounge performance.
- Wardrobe & Mood: Davita wore a leopard print dress layered with textured fur sleeves orange coat, styled with a wide-brimmed hat adorned with metallic accents. Her confident pose and expressive energy filled the space with the elegance and presence of a true jazz performer.
90's Bedroom
This playful and nostalgic set captures the energy of youth and imagination. The entire look was shot from above, offering a cinematic, bird’s-eye view of a creative at rest and reflection.
- Lighting & Styling: Light was diffused through a Westcott Scrim Jim Cine to maintain a cozy, laid-back mood. This scene was shot using a overhead camera rig to give a birds eye view of the set.
- Props & Creative Direction: Magazines, blankets and a vintage rotary phone were arranged on the bed to give the impression of a carefree evening talking with friends.
- Wardrobe & Mood: Davita wears light pink pajamas with a subtle pattern that complements the soft, inviting textures of the bed. Her bold makeup and confident expression balance playfulness with sophistication, evoking both comfort and empowerment.

This set captures Davita in her creative element as a designer. The tone is professional and clean, showcasing her precision and imagination as she conceptualizes her next masterpiece.

- Lighting & Styling: Bright, directional light was used to create a crisp and editorial workspace feel.
- Props & Creative Direction: Fabric, patterns, thread, zippers, and sewing tools surrounded Davita as she read patterns and jotted notes for her next creation.
- Wardrobe & Mood: Davita wore a navy-and-white striped top with a patterned scarf, a white belt, and a statement hat with gold detailing. The look is sharp yet imaginative, showcasing confidence and vision at work.
This set highlights Davita’s lifestyle and balance between creativity and comfort. The warm tones and relaxed atmosphere make it feel like an afternoon of inspiration at home.
